Rear differential 4,777 instead 4,444

I don't know allready postet:

The 2008 RX 8 will have a different rear differential ratio.
Instead of before 4,444 its ratio will be 4,777.

So all gears will be lower.

The 5th gear of my 192 RX 8 is much too long and with 4,777 ratio it will be 7,5% lower.
So at 230 kmh it revs at about 7000.
So much better!

In Koblenz Germany the firm CoOrdSport offers a sets of gears for about 630 euro.
Imported from Japan

The german Realizer racing time mounted this 4,777 ratio.
I am thinking about doing the same.
Anyone here done this change or has experience with taking the dif appart?
In the manuel it looks not easy..

I am not sure , but it is possible the MX5 ratio is also 4,777 (?)

Very interesting , with the 192 hp engine i think that you will gain more than with the 231 HP version as the gear ratio is already shorter compared to the SP.

bon, pour ma part j'ai toujours dit que la rx8 tirait trop long.
je me souvient d'ailleurs un post ou j'avais bo expliquer que je ne mettais jamais la six et certain m'avait repondu qu'elle poussait encore en 6...passons.
pour ce qui est du pont court, il suffit depuis ...2003 de mettre un couple court de s2000 pour avoir ce fameux pont court..
bon, je pense que ce changement ne va pas affecter grandement la rapidité de la rx8, mais peut etre avoir une fiche techique pure un peu meilleur que le modele anté 2008.
bon, pour les 231 cv ils n'ont rien touché, ça me fais penser a un sentiment d'impuissance a l'instart de la clio rs, ont met du court court pour comblé les lacune.
bon, aller prenons cela comme du paufinage.

une chose est sur, si il n'ont touché qu'au pont court, une rx8 ancien model doit etre devant sur un 0/100 car la rx8 pont court devra passer la 3 pour atteindre le 100.

franchement je suis un peu dessus, et ça me fait bien aimer mon ancienne.
pour le reste ont prendra ce qui me plaira sur la nouvelle...

So no experience in this field.

The 192 is very slow in accelaration above 200 (after shifting in 5 th)
(If the raod is slightly uphill non accelaration at all)

for the 231 it's the same, about 200 it's a wall...
but the 5 gear of the 192 it's very longer than the 6 gear of the 231.
i think it's better for you tu put a gear box of 231 in your 192, like tertou.
it's a good way , for me...
