Here's the new plan for the first few days:
We will arrive at Lake Neuchâtel on Saturday, June 20th.
On Sunday 21st we will be in Saint-Croix-du-Verdon until Tuesday 23rd. We will stay there these 2 days for exploring that region. On Tuesday we will move on going south...

Salut tout-le-monde
Minor correction, we will arrive at Saint-Croix-du-Verdon on Monday 22nd June. If somebody wants to join us then the parts on the Route des Grandes Alpes would be perfect:
21.06.2009 Neuchatel - Val d'Isere http://maps.google.de/maps?f=d&source=s ... F8&t=h&z=9
22.06.2009 Val d'Isere - Grand Canyon du Verdon http://maps.google.de/maps?f=d&source=s ... F8&t=h&z=9
I also updated our planning thread. It is all in German but the linked maps should be easy to find.

Anybody who wants to join us on parts of our tour?

Hi, I hope to meet you during your trip.
But I don't know yet when I'll be available. I'll drop a message on you forum as soon as possible. It would be a pleasure to talk with some German rotary fans ! (I apologize : unfortunately, I'm not able to speak in German...)

Unfortunately, we did not meet you in France. But it was very difficult, too. The new time plan turned out to be too tough so we stayed at completely other camping places.
Nevertheless, it was a fantastic tour through France. We passed numerous "cols" until we reached the sea. You really have fantastic roads for the RX-8. Be proud of it!
Here are some pictures of the tour. We drove about 4500km in those two weeks and lost some mm of the tires.
I think this was not the last tour to the Route des Grandes Alpes.

Any problems with the food in France ?! ....

@Baphi: No, but you have very high prices for food. So we took some with us.
We also did a lot of barbecue and sometimes visited a restaurant, too.
Gas was a bit cheaper than in Germany. However, I still do not understand how ordinary gas stations can survive while supermarket stations are a lot cheaper.
The picture of the sweets is a result of the high temperature in the RX-8 trunk.
With 15l/km the pertrol usage was 3-4l higher than under normal conditions. Who needs more than the second gear!?
