New brakekit for my 8

Original brakes are not to bad, but I felt the need for something better :)
Steel brakelines all around, discs (dia 356mm - original 324mm), calipers (6-pot - original 1 pot), sport pads for street use.

Needless to say that the brakes are great !

Thank you for your pictures!!! Great Brakes!!
Did you also change the rear brakes or just the front ones? and typical question...how much? :oh: ;)

Hey Ben, I really like your new brakes.
And at least you didn't have too much problem with them. :D
Finally, my brakes were better at the end of the day too.

One question, I see that you put your rotor's slots in the biting direction instead of the evacuating direction. What are the rules there ? :??:
Personally, I prefer the evacuating direction to eject the gasses and dirt away instead of sending them towards the axle. Anyway, the braking power comes from the pad to disk contact, not from the slots. ;)

Changes to the rear brakes are only slotted discs and race brake-pads.

No Tertou, no problems with the brakes at all ! (the problem of the other car had nothing to do with the quality of the brakes, but just with bad luck...)

I also had the discussion before about the direction of the slots, and I was also of the same opinion as you about the direction.
However, it does not seem to matter.
But what is important is the direction of the disc-ventilation if they are not straight. (this is the case with my new discs, but not with the original ones if I remember correctly.)

I am also interested in such brake system, but what is the problem with the other car? :??:
Didn't the other car brake at all? Unkown vibrations?

Thanks

Yari

Re slot direction, I guess it does not really matters as the cenrifugal effect should be the prevalent force and gases and dirt will be driven outwards. Remember these disks only decelerate under braking...
